Requirements

Saif Qazi, the Managing Director of Urban Point, reached us with the app requirement. Our team was asked to conduct end-to-end testing of the app on both Android and IOS

The finalized app was needed to support daily deals and offers to entice customers worldwide. The SubcoDevs team quickly drew a roadmap for the process and go started.

Challenges We Faced

Since we needed to perform end-to-end testing of the app on multiple platforms, it was crucial to be cautious. However, the limited time crunch made the process even more complex.
Moreover, the Urban Point app also had an integration with Uber to auto-detect users’ location and their distance to the store location. This added another layer of complexity for the testing team.
Another area of concern was Urban Point’s vast array of language support. The app supported English and Arabic while offering an option to switch countries. It created a challenge to test the app since a switch in the country can lead to changes in the offers and stores.
Above all, testing the app on devices simultaneously made it challenging to deliver a quality product in a short timeline.

Our Solution

We discussed and implemented strategies to deliver a quality product in the given time. Our developers selected a few devices with different screen sizes and OSS. This was done to observe the UI and functional issues based on the latest operating systems. Also, this allowed us to test the app on old OSS and different screen sizes. Our team implemented solutions to ensure the functioning of the Uber integration. We prioritized and executed the test cases to minimize the risks of bugs, ultimately delivering a quality product in the given time.

Final Product

The final product became a mobile app with 100K+ downloads on Google Play Store. It invites customers from across the globe, offering them a chance to explore new places to visit. The app primarily focuses on offering BOGO (Buy One Get One) deals and offers. Such offers can he renewed and even gifted to friends and family. Urban Point won the App of the Year Award in 2016, and is currently ranked 14 on the Apple App Store.
